歷史

地球物理研究期刊於1896年創刊時，美國地球物理聯盟的會長路易士·阿格里可拉·鮑爾命名為 Terrestrial Magnetism[2]。1899年到1948年期間名稱為 Terrestrial Magnetism and Atmospheric Electricity[3]。1980年建立了三個部分：A: Space Physics, B: Solid Earth, and C: Oceans[4]。之後再建立四個部分：1984年建立 D: Atmospheres[4]、1991年建立 E: Planets[5]、2003年建立 F: Earth Surface[6]、以及2005年建立的 G: Biogeosciences[6]。
