自由軟件基金會則指出：
這是一個自由軟件許可證，但由於這個許可證的法律選擇條款，因而與GNU GPL不兼容。我們建議您不要將此許可證用於編寫新軟件，但是如果使用此許可證下使用和改進Plan 9那就還可以的。
