濒危语言红皮书

濒危语言红皮书（Red Book of Endangered Languages）是由联合国教科文组织出版和收集的一个全世界濒危语言的综合清单。目前，濒危语言红皮书已被世界濒危语言地图册（Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger）所取代。

历史

1992年，国际语言学家大会（International Congress of Linguists，CIPL）在魁北克举办聚会，探讨了濒危语言的主题，最终成立濒危语言委员会（Endangered Languages Committee）。同年，它在巴黎举办了一个国际聚会，发起了这项主题。

在斯蒂芬·沃姆（Stephen Wurm）的建议下，委员会决定建立一个名为国际濒危语言信息交换所（International Clearing House for Endangered Languages，ICHEL）的研究中心，根据其提供的数据出版濒危语言红皮书。[1]
