皮卡迪利街

皮卡迪利街（英文：Piccadilly）是英国伦敦的一条主要街道，西到海德公园角，东到皮卡迪利圆环。皮卡迪利街完全属于威斯敏斯特市。这条街是A4公路的一部分，伦敦西部第二个最重要的交通动脉，倫敦地鐵的幹線皮卡迪利線便通過此路底下，並因此得名。皮卡迪利街东段的南侧是圣詹姆斯区，而皮卡迪利街的西段只有北侧建起了房屋，南侧是格林公园。皮卡迪利街的北侧是梅费尔区。

里兹酒店

在皮卡迪利街上，有福南梅森食品店、皇家学院、倫敦麗兹酒店和哈查尔兹书店（Hatchards）。 辛普森（Simpsons）曾经位居英国最好的服装店之列，20世纪30年代开设在皮卡迪利街。这个店在1999年关闭，原址现在是水石书店的旗舰店。这个地区拥有许多热门的夜总会，包括摄政街独家的“纸”（Paper）夜总会，和莱斯特广场好客的“声音”（Sound）夜总会。

歷史

皮卡迪利街已有幾個世紀的歷史，但是沒有證據顯示它曾被用作羅馬道路[1]。在中世紀，它曾被喚作「通往雷丁的道路」（）或「由科恩布魯克而來的路」（）[2]。在都鐸王朝時期，沿路兩旁建築開始蓬勃起來，由於衛生環境欠佳，當局曾經出手干預，下令禁止發展，奈何房地產炒賣熾熱，市民都對新政視若無睹[3]。

1559-60年間，英國女王伊麗莎白一世將皮卡迪利街附近的土地賜予威廉·多丁頓（），一年多後售予一釀酒商，之後輾轉落入一位名為羅伯特·貝克（）的裁縫手中[3] 。貝克以製造及售賣皮卡地里（）款式的衣領發蹟，街道亦因而得名。
