他曾兩度獲奥斯卡最佳原创剧本奖的提名。

早期生活

出生於紐約市布魯克林。他父亲是名犹太人，母亲是位新教徒[2]。1991年他毕业于瓦萨学院的英语专业。1995年，执导个人首部电影《踹球叫練》，从而开启了他的导演生涯。
