生平
1973年，马斯登出生在英国英格兰桑德韦尔。[1] 马斯登10岁时，他的父亲抛弃家庭和妻儿，离家而去。[2] 马斯登跟着母亲安和姐姐一起居住。[3][4] 马斯登读完高中，就加入了国家青年剧院。[3]
最初，马斯登从事的是模特儿行业，他为伦敦市、巴黎等大型广告商充当模特。[5] 马斯登曾说：“我的大学就是在伦敦市的酒吧当服务员，每个星期几十小时赚微博的收入”。[5] 20年的模特生涯之后，他被一个星探发掘，成为了一个演员。[5]
