側褶蛙屬

侧褶蛙属（Pelophylax）是蛙科的一个属，其下大部分种分布于欧亚大陆，少数见于北非。大部分侧褶蛙属的生物在夏季生活在整体湿润的环境中，但中亚侧褶蛙和撒哈拉侧褶蛙会在沙漠的水坑中生活。

分类

利奥波德·费卿格在1843年建立本属的时候是为了和林奈的蛙属相区别，后者生活的环境相对更加干燥。19世纪和20世纪的很多学者并不同意费卿格的做法，他们倾向于把与林蛙外表相似的蛙全部分入蛙属。但21世纪初的分子系统发育研究显示，费卿格的分类很可能是正确的，而且侧褶蛙属其实和蛙属根本没有太近的亲缘关系。不过，侧褶蛙属可能也并非一个单系群，其下分类还存在一些疑问[1][2][3]。
