哈德遜河谷

哈德遜河谷Hudson Valley)或譯哈德遜谷是美國紐約州哈德遜河周圍形成的一條河谷,此谷北起奧爾巴尼特洛伊,南至揚克斯[1]

哈德遜河流自北向南經紐約州東部、將此地南部的一系列三疊紀砂岩和紅層以及更古老的北部的前寒武紀片麻岩侵蝕成一條河谷。最終在哈德遜高地流入冰河時期形成的峽灣。往西則是阿巴拉契亞高地。在塔潘齐(Tappan Zee)地區,河西耐侵蝕而高聳的輝綠岩形成了獨特的景觀,這段的懸崖高度約在400~800英尺(120~240之間。[2]

哈得遜河谷是阿巴拉契亞山嶺及河谷的一部分,北部屬於東大湖區和哈德遜低地[3] 在冰河時期,河谷裡的巨大冰川直抵長島。[4]
