林蚺屬
林蚺屬（學名：Tropidophis）是蛇亞目林蚺科下的一個屬，主要包括分布於加勒比地區及南美洲的無毒林蚺。目前共有17個品種已被確認。[2][3]

特徵
成年的林蚺約長30至60公分，牠們的生活習性相當隱蔽，主要為陸行蛇並棲身於熱帶雨林、灌木叢、松樹林一類的地理環境，有時亦會接近民居。另外，林蚺有一種奇特的自衛方式，就是從眼、口、鼻中排出血液，以讓對手錯愕。
雖然林蚺是同科蛇類中相對地短小及神秘的蛇類，但牠們很容易受到外在環境所影響，甚至繼而滅絕。如納弗沙島林蚺（Tropidophis bucculentus）就已經有百多年未曾出現蹤影，因而被猜測可能已經遭到滅絕。
