沙巴大学

马来西亚沙巴大学（馬來語：，简称沙大或UMS）成立于1994年11月24日，是马来西亚第九所国立大学。当年，时任国家元首是遵照1971大学和大学学院法案第6（1）条文下宣布了沙巴大学的诞生。这所大学总校位于距离沙巴亚庇 (Kota Kinabalu) 市中心大约3公里的一片土地上，即实邦加 (Sepanggar)海湾，占地999英亩。校园环境优美，大学正门面向着全东南亚最高的山峰——京那巴鲁山（Gunung Kinabalu），另一边则背着南海。因此，沙大享有“东南亚最美丽的大学”之美誉。

历史
沙大校景一瞥

创校初期，沙大曾分别租用位于里卡士的沙巴基金局社区学院 (Sabah Foundation Community College) 与孟加达的马来西亚通讯公司训练学院，作为该校的临时校园。直到1995年，沙大开始兴建其占地999公顷的新校园，并于1999年6月正式启用该地作为永久校园。第一阶段工程于2000年完成。另外，沙大在1999年1月于纳闽岛成立了一所国际分校，有“海滩校园”之称，因为其地理位置靠近海滩。在2011年时，在山打根设立农业学院。

沙大总校之前共有9所学院及一所中心，即知识与语言学习中心。之后在2003年，沙大创立了医学院，使到总校学院总数增至10所。2006年, 农业学院在总校成立，并在2011年搬迁至山打根分校。
