2017年,波士顿大学共收到60815份申请书,从中录取约3400名新生。录取率仅为25%。实际入学人数为3484人。

波士顿大学位于查尔斯河畔密度较高的城区,步行,自行车,公共交通较为便利,不适合驾车出行。波士顿轻轨绿线的B支线设有Saint Paul Street, Boston University West, Boston University Central, Boston University East, Blandford Street等站点服务狭长的波士顿大学校园。从校园出发坐波士顿轻轨绿线B支线到市中心Park Street(可换乘波士顿地铁红线)仅需14分钟,到Boylston Street站(位于波士顿公园东南角,距波士顿唐人街200米)约12分钟,到Copley站(三一教堂波士顿公共图书馆所在地)约10分钟,到波士顿学院约22分钟。

高频率发车的公交57路途径波士顿大学,连接Watertown和Kenmore轻轨站。距离Questrom商学院300米的Kenmore轻轨站可搭乘公交8路(途径东北大学和Southbay Mall购物区),60路(终点站The Shops at Chestnut Hill商场,车程25分钟)和65路。波士顿地区轨道交通,巴士和轮渡的具体线路及班次信息可在MBTA官网查询。

體育競技

Student Village

該校为著名的「愛國者聯盟」(Patriot League)成员之一。

校隊主色是猩紅色,暱稱為「㹴犬」(Terriers),吉祥物名喚「瑞德」(Rhett),是條項圈帶刺、叉手咧嘴的小獵犬。「瑞德」命名的靈感,來自美國1930年代暢銷小說《》中的經典名句:「世上再沒人比瑞德更愛思嘉了。」(No one loves Scarlet more than Rhett)。書中女主角郝思嘉(Scarlet O'Hara)的名字,恰與猩紅色英文同字;而「瑞德」即源自男主角白瑞德(Rhett Butler)的名字。[13]
