美國基督教

基督教在美國是最優勢宗教，在2015年，75％的受訪美國成年人認為自己是基督徒[1][2]。美國擁有世界上最大的基督徒人口，擁有近2.4億基督徒，儘管其他國家的基督徒人口比例較高。

所有新教教派佔46.5％，而天主教會本身佔20.8％，是最大的單一教派。在東方基督教教派中，有幾個東正教和東正教教堂，美國的信徒人數不到100萬，佔總人口的0.4％。

基督教被引入美洲，因為它始於16和17世紀開始被歐洲人殖民。從它的基礎前進，美國被各種各樣的來源稱為新教國家。移民進一步增加了基督徒的數量。今天，美國的大多數基督教教會都是主流新教徒、福音派新教徒或天主教徒。

主要分類

美國的基督教教派通常分為三大類：福音派新教、主流新教和天主教會。也有基督教教派不屬於這些群體中的任何一個，例如正教會和東方正統教會，但它們要小得多。
