荧光淬灭

荧光淬灭英語:)猝滅是當常溫物質經射線照射(通常為紫外線或X射線)所發出會螢光強度降低的任何過程。

紫外激光(左)照射溶解在水中的兩個奎寧樣品。右側樣品發出一般奎寧的藍色熒光,左側樣品中因為含有氯離子,可淬滅奎寧的熒光,因此左側樣品不會發出明顯的熒光。

淬滅受壓力和溫度的影響很大,許多過程都可導致淬滅,例如激發態反應,能量轉移,複合物形成和碰撞淬滅。氧分子,碘離子丙烯酰胺是常見的化學猝滅劑[1] 。眾所周知的奎寧熒光猝滅劑則是氯離子[2][3][4]

有一系列效应会导致荧光淬灭,例如:

  • 复杂结构
  • 内部转换
  • 能量转移到其他分子,所谓的灭剂
