OB星
OB星是熱的大質量恆星,在恆星分類上是O型或B型 ,它們形成於結構鬆散的OB星協中。它們的生命期很短,因此距離它們誕生的地區不會很遠。在它們的有生之年,會輻射出數量豐沛的紫外線。這些輻射會使巨大分子雲環繞在周圍的星際氣體快速被電離,形成電離氫區(H II區)或斯特龙根球。
在光譜的清單中OB光譜的範圍仍屬於未知的,但它們都屬於OB星協中的早期型恆星。
