丹尼男孩

丹尼男孩（英語：）是由英格蘭作曲家弗雷德里克·威德里寫成的民歌，通常使用“倫敦德里小調”來演唱。[1] 丹尼男孩常被愛爾蘭裔美國人、愛爾蘭裔加拿大人當做非官方的頌歌。[2] 此外這首歌也常用於葬禮中。[3]

1910年，丹尼男孩由英格蘭作曲家弗雷德里克·威德里在薩默塞特郡巴斯寫成。1913年他的居於美國的连襟瑪格麗特（Margaret，亦稱“Jess”）寄給他一份“倫敦德里小調”的抄本后，威德里便將歌詞與小調合拍作成了曲子。[4][5]

意義

關於丹尼男孩的寓意有許多不同的說法，[7] 比如說是家長寫給出征或出國的兒子。

丹尼男孩1918年版的乐谱中还包含另一版歌词（Eily Dear），乐谱附有说明：“當由男子演唱時，應使用斜體詞語；乐曲也更名为Eily Dear，也就是说Danny Boy应该仅由女子演唱”。然而並不能斷定這是威德里本人的意願。[8]
