神經徑路
前庭神經會由耳蝸內部進入延髓，並經過下大腦腳（inferior peduncle）與三叉神經脊髓徑之間。
亞神經核
該合共包含了四個亞核，皆位於第四腦室底部。

| 內前庭核 | 延髓（第四腦室底） | 又稱背前庭核（dorsal vestibular nucleus）或主前庭核（chief vestibular nucleus）。位於菱形窩的聽區（area acustica） 下方。該核尾端又稱降前庭核（descending vestibular nucleus）或脊髓前庭核（descending vestibular nucleus）。 |
| 外前庭核 | 延髓上側 | 又稱代特氏核（dorsal vestibular nucleus），由大細胞組成，位於菱形窩外側角，該核外背側有時又稱為別氏核（nucleus of Bechterew）。 |
