瑪姬·史密芙

瑪姬·史密芙在1934年於英格蘭埃塞克斯郡伊爾福德區出生。她母親瑪格麗特·赫頓·利特爾（Margaret Hutton Little）在蘇格蘭格拉斯哥出生，任職秘書；父親納撒尼爾·（Nathaniel Smith）在泰恩-威爾郡紐卡素出生，在牛津大學任職病理學者[1][2][3][4]，雙胞胎哥哥分別叫阿利斯泰爾（Alistair）和伊恩（Ian）。她在牛津高中（Oxford High School）讀中學。

瑪姬·史密芙與羅伯特·斯蒂芬斯（Robert Stephens）在1967年結婚，在1974年離婚；在1975年與貝弗利·克羅斯（Beverley Cross）結婚。克羅斯在1998年逝世。

瑪姬·史密芙經常在電影、電視、舞台三方面演出，皆有優秀表現。

瑪姬·史密芙在牛津劇場（Oxford Playhouse）表演劇場處女作，在1960年代開始在皇家國家劇院（Royal National Theatre）工作。她憑1965年電影《奧賽羅》（莎士比亞名作）飾演Desdemona，與著名演員有對手戲，獲得首個奧斯卡金像獎提名。

瑪姬·史密芙在1969年電影《錦綉年華》（The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie）飾演蘇格蘭異教徒教師，榮獲奧斯卡最佳女主角獎，是她首個奧斯卡金像獎；1978年的電影《加州套房》（California Suite）使她獲得了1979年的奧斯卡最佳女配角獎。
