真獸下綱

真獸下綱（学名：）是一个包含胎盤類哺乳動物的演化支。此名稱是由湯瑪斯·亨利·赫胥黎在1880年所推薦使用，在他的定義下，真獸類包含的範圍比胎盤類（Placentalia）更廣泛，即所有与现存胎盤類关系更接近、而离现存有袋類较远的哺乳動物。胎盤类则只是包含了現存真獸類的最近共同祖先及其后代，也就是说，胎盤类是真兽下纲的冠群。
