鎧蠅科，又稱甲蠅科，屬於雙翅目昆蟲，共9屬115種，主要分布於亞洲與非洲。

特徵

鎧蠅科屬於中小型昆蟲，前胸背板異常發達，在腹部形成有如甲蟲翅鞘般的金屬光澤保護殼。科名來自希臘文κέλνφος，意為「盾牌」。[1]

生態

目前對於該科物種的生態所知甚少。成蟲喜棲居於河流附近的潮濕草叢，幼蟲為腐食性。[2]
