3月28日，官方頻道公開了最新專輯《Map of the Soul: Persona》的專輯回歸預告〈Persona〉，由隊長RM以個人RAP演出的形式為新專輯回歸揭開序幕。[3]〈Persona〉首日讚好達到256萬，成為韓國個人歌手中最高紀錄，並於4月3日登上美國告示牌榜單「YouTube Songs Music Chart」的第17名，成為史上第一支上榜的韓團回歸預告片。[4]4月8日，官方Youtube頻道釋出了專輯《Map of the Soul: Persona》主打歌〈Boy With Luv〉的音樂錄影帶預告，在公開後10小時便吸引超過800萬人次觀看，歌曲將與美國歌手Halsey首次合作。[5]截至4月11日，新專輯預售量已達到302萬1822張。[6]
