七庙
《禮記》規定天子可以追祀七世祖，太祖廟居中，左右各為三昭、三穆。所谓昭、穆，是指宗庙中位次的排列。三昭三穆是从文王起算，单数世代属于穆行，双数世代属于昭行。賈誼《過秦論上》：“一夫作難而七廟隳。”楊炯《盂蘭盆賦》：“上可以薦元符七廟，下可以納群動于三車者也。”
