历史

前身是創辦於1702年的布雷斯勞大學。由創立開始，它一直是德語區內最享福盛名的大學之一，直到第二次世界大戰之後这片領土重劃给予波兰所有。[2]

大學亦是目前下西里西亞區域最大規模的大學，自1945年起已經有超過100,000名畢業生和超過2,000名研究人員，當中很多都取得極高的學術成就[2]。
