褐藻纲
褐藻（學名：）是屬較高等的多細胞藻類，屬真核細胞生物，有1,500種左右，主要分布於大陸附近的水域，則淡水種罕見。褐藻纲外表從暗褐色的橄欖綠都有，其取決於褐藻素與葉綠素的比例。至於它們的大小各異，從只有數公分的水雲屬到1∼100公尺的巨藻屬，昆布即為常見的褐藻。褐藻門則同時可以無性生殖和有性生殖繁殖。
