远东运动会
远东运动会（英語：，亦稱）是亚洲最早的地区性综合运动会，由菲律宾、中華民国、日本三国发起，从1913年到1934年分别在菲律宾、中国、日本三国共举办了10届远东运动会。1934年，日本坚持把满洲国拉入远东运动会，遭到中華民国的抗议并宣布退出远东运动会，远东体育协会宣告解体，远东运动会亦随之停办。後日本組織舉辦了東亞競技大會以接替該體育賽事。

历史
20世纪初菲律宾马尼拉每年2月都举办“嘉年华会”。期间，举行各种体育比赛活动，中、日两国运动员亦曾应邀参加这些比赛。
1910年前后，菲律宾体育组织欲依照奥运会形式，组织有中、日、菲等国参加的综合性运动会，并于1911年派艾尔伍德·布朗（Elwood Stanley Brown）访问中国和日本，提出组建远东体育组织。
1912年，中華民国、日本、菲律宾3国代表经协商后成立了“远东奥林匹克委员会”，并于次年举行第一届远东运动会。
1920年，远东奥林匹克委员会获得国际奥委会承认，并嘱更名为“远东体育协会”。
1934年，中華民国宣布退出远东运动会，远东体育协会宣告解体，远东运动会消亡。
