日本-琉球语系
日本语系（英語：），或稱日本-琉球语系/日琉語系（英語：），是世界主要語系之一，包含日語和琉球語两大分支，使用人口約1.25億。

介紹
关于日本语系与其它语言和语系的关系到目前为止由学者们提出过许多理论:
- 日本語系：日本語系這個概念最早由美國的日本學者萊昂·塞拉芬提出[2]，後來這一概念受到國際語言學者的普遍接受，根據日琉同祖論，日本語系的所有語言的祖語都是原始日本語(Proto-Japonic)，在繩文時代就已經在日本列島流行[3]。其分子人類學依据为日本人的34.7%單倍群D，其為繩文人和安達曼人、阿伊努人、西藏地方的藏族的主要父系基因。[4]
- 孤立語言：有些日本學者認為日語和琉球語都是日語的方言，称之为本土方言和琉球方言，但大部分语言学家认为日语和琉球语是两个属于同语系但有很大区别的语言，各有各的方言。服部四郎認為，日本語和琉球語分化的時間為大和時代[5]。
- 澳台语系：南岛语与日语也有类似点：元音（母音）有5个，即あ（a）、い（i）、う（u）、え（e）、お（o），不使用双重元音；单词以元音结束；浊音不同于单词之首等。这表明，使用“南岛语”的东南亚的一些民族，有可能对日本民族的构成曾发生影响。但因为没有同源词汇，一般并不认为日本语系属于南岛语系的分支，而只是可能受到了一些影响，如同汉藏语系对东南亚南岛语系的影响（声调，语法等）。鳥越憲三郎認為彌生人與傣族或哈尼族有同源關係，曾試圖在中國雲南省尋找彌生文化的起源，語言上的證據則需等待古傣語等語言重建後方能進行進一步比對。
