第三圣殿

在公元70年第二圣殿被毁之后,犹太教徒希望能在圣殿山上建造第三圣殿(Third Temple (Hebrew: בית המקדש השלישי‎, Beit haMikdash haShlishi, literally: The House, the Holy, the Third) )。祈祷神对此事的应允是犹太教每日三次的祷告中正式的一部分。尽管圣殿尚未建成,其概念和犹太人对其建立的渴望在犹太教(尤其是正统犹太教)中仍是神圣的。《塔纳赫》中记载了先知对第三圣殿建立的预言,称其会在弥赛亚时代被实现。

圣殿的平面图记载于《以西结书》第40章至第47章中(书中记载的圣殿与第一、第二圣殿在在外观、占地面积等方面皆不相同,因此被认为是对未来的第三圣殿的描写)。另外,在库姆兰发现的死海古卷的圣殿卷轴中亦有类似记载。

穆斯林的观点

许多穆斯林,以生活在阿拉伯国家的穆斯林为主,视第三圣殿的修建为对伊斯兰教的公然冒犯。因为圣殿山上已有阿克萨清真寺圆顶清真寺存在,而犹太人则认为阿克萨清真寺立于原圣殿的废墟上。今天大部分穆斯林将这一地区视为圣地,并坚持认为自己对这一地区拥有主权,甚至否认圣殿山与犹太教圣殿的任何联系进而拒绝承认犹太人进入这一地区的权利[1][2]。自东耶路撒冷以色列当局占领以来,穆斯林中的原教旨主义者常常呼吁对进入圣殿山的非穆斯林教徒使用武力。
